Greater Evansville Youth Powered by IYG

In 2018, a small group of local advocates came together to chat about the importance of creating a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ youth to feel supported and connected to their peers. Fast forward to 2019, and Greater Evansville Youth was born! We started off hosting one weekly youth group meeting, and now meet twice a week.

Over the past 5 years, we've realized that there's so much more we want to accomplish. We've always known that local youth and young adults could benefit from more comprehensive support, and we've been working hard to make that a reality.

That's why we're thrilled to share that as of June 1, 2024, Greater Evansville Youth has joined forces with IYG to expand our services and bring even more resources to LGBTQIA+ young people in our area!

Exciting things are on the horizon for G.E.Y.! We're going to have our very own community center, open full-time, where we'll be offering an array of services. From increased group programming in a drop-in center model, to resources like a food pantry, clothing/laundry services, hygenie products, and mental health therapy – all free of charge. And guess what? We're now extending our services to young adults aged 19-24!
