About us
Greater Evansville Youth was founded in 2019 by local members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We have a vested interest in the health, safety and happiness of local LGBTQIA+ youth. All of our adult volunteers have up-to-date background checks and child abuse prevention training.
What We Do
Mayor’s 2022 Community Champion Award Winner
Greater Evansville Youth creates a positive safe space for youth to build community with each other, learn how to advocate for themselves, and to express their individuality and personal identity. Our youth leaders are trauma-informed, background checked, certified in child abuse prevention, and our policies provide appropriate boundaries to protect and care for the most vulnerable youth in the tri-state area. We provide education to local organizations and work with many community partners in an effort to provide a comprehensive network to better support LGBTQIA+ youth and their families.
